London airport information

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

A. Heatrow Airport
Heathrow Airport is about 25 km from the city center, and there's plenty of ways to make the journey. You can use the Piccadilly Underground Line to get to the center directly from all of Heathrow's terminals, and the hour-long journey will cost £6 if you buy a cash ticket - ask at the ticket office about Oyster Cards, as these pre-paid cards will significantly reduce the amount of money you'll spend on public transport in the city. There's also a train service which runs to Paddington Station at a cost of £21.50, and several express bus services which go to various places in the city - it's best to inquire at the airport information points, as the best route will depend on your destination.

B. Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick (LWG) is 45 km away from the city center, and there are god train and bus services running between the two. The Gatwick Express train to London Victoria runs every 15 minutes between 04.35 and 01.35, and costs 20 pounds. The journey lasts about 15 minutes. National Express and easyBus bus services run from the airport. Between 04:00 and 01:00 an easyBus leaves every 15 minutes, with a ticket costing 2 pounds and the journey lasting around an hour.
