Introducing the Vietnam
Vietnam, in Southeast Asia, shares a northern border with China, and has southern and eastern coastlines along the South China Sea and a western coastline along the Gulf of Thailand. Featuring a topography that includes mountains, hills, valleys, and deltas, Vietnam is a country of breathtaking beauty. Visitors come to see rice paddies in the north, the beaches in the south, and the temples and archaeological sites throughout the country. Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City are the two largest cities in the country and popular destinations; Ho Chi Minh City is considered the country’s traditional commercial hub, though Hanoi has rapidly emerged as a business center as well. Other places to explore include but are not limited to Ha Long Bay, known for boat tours and gorgeous scenery, the city of Hội An, with many temples, and Sa Pa for trekking. In the city of Huế, visitors can see the Imperial City, a walled enclosure.
Turkish Airlines operates direct flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Flights to Vietnam from Istanbul Airport take approximately nine hours, depending on the destination.
