Patriarchate of Istanbul is in St. George's Cathedral located at Fener (Phanar) district. The Patriarch, who is considered as the “Primus inter pares” (first among equals) among the Orthodox World is regarded as the spiritual leader of the world's 250 million Orthodox Christians.
