The Stopover in Istanbul program offers our passengers the opportunity to explore the city. Passengers who are connecting via Istanbul Airport can enrich their travels by discovering the city’s history and cultural life with Stopover in Istanbul – and enjoy free accommodation in partner hotels!

Who is eligible?

Within the scope of the Stopover in Istanbul program, our passengers with a connection period of at least 20 hours can stay free of charge and accumulate unforgettable memories in Istanbul, which stands out with its historical and cultural heritage. The voucher required for the stay are issued after the application is complete.

How to apply?

At least 72 hours before their first flight, passengers can make a reservation by sending their name-surname, reservation code (PNR) and ticket number, desired accommodation dates, preferred room type, telephone number and e-mail address information to the e-mail address corresponding to their country of departure in the table below or via the booker above with the PNR and surname information.

What does it offer?

While staying in Stopover in Istanbul-contracted hotels, our passengers can explore the city’s historical and cultural structure and enjoy activities specific to Istanbul. Economy Class passengers may stay one night in a 4-star hotel and Business Class passengers may stay two nights in a 5-star or boutique hotels free of charge.

Terms and conditions

Passengers who are connecting via Istanbul Airport (IST) on their departure and return flights can benefit from the Turkish Airlines Stopover Service.
To be eligible for the Stopover Service, passengers must have a transit time of at least 20 hours between flights.
To benefit from the Stopover Accommodation service in Istanbul, passengers can have up to seven days’ layover time between the two flights.
To benefit from the Stopover Accommodation service, passengers’ outbound and return flights must be on the same reservation. Separate tickets for departure and return are not accepted.
Passengers who wish to use the stopover service must submit requests at least 72 hours before their flight. Requests received less than 72 hours before the flight are not processed.
Passengers can benefit from this service only once on the outbound or return flight.
The Stopover Accommodation service is valid only for passengers on flights operated by Turkish Airlines (ticket numbers starting with 235).
To qualify for the stopover right, passengers must depart from and return to the same country.
Within the scope of the service, Economy Class passengers can enjoy a complimentary stay in a 4-star hotel for one night and Business Class passengers can enjoy a complimentary stay in a 5-star hotel for two nights.
Starting their journeys from Australia, Canada, Chile, China (PVG, XIY, CAN, PEK), Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and the USA, Economy Class passengers can enjoy a complimentary stay in a 4-star hotel for two nights and Business Class passengers can enjoy a complimentary stay in a 5-star hotel for three nights.
Passengers who utilize the Stopover service cannot benefit from the Touristanbul service on the same route.
It is the passenger's responsibility to provide all documents required for entry and exit to Türkiye. Please visit the e-visa page before starting your trip.
Visa fees, city travel costs, and travel costs between the airport and the hotel are the passenger’s responsibility.
Stopover Accommodation Service is not available for passengers traveling on N and R fare class tickets.
Passengers without a hotel voucher/voucher cannot benefit from the complimentary accommodation service.
The hotel voucher and boarding pass must be presented to the hotel upon check-in.
Hotel vouchers are created with the current ticket number. Passengers must request a new voucher if their ticket number changes.
Once the hotel voucher/ voucher is issued by the system, it cannot be changed according to personal requests.
For additional accommodation, passengers can benefit from Turkish Airlines' special rates by contacting the hotel directly after receiving the hotel voucher/ voucher.
Passengers who want to use the Stopover Accommodation Service must apply after the completion of the ticketing process.
Passengers who have not applied for the service cannot use the service in the event of a schedule change or flight cancellation.
Passengers under 18 years of age who are traveling alone cannot use the Stopover accommodation service.
Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the Stopover service in Istanbul.
