The Stopover in Istanbul program offers our passengers the opportunity to explore the city. Passengers who are connecting via Istanbul Airport can enrich their travels by discovering the city’s history and cultural life with Stopover in Istanbul – and enjoy free accommodation in partner hotels!

Who is eligible?

Within the scope of the Stopover in Istanbul program, our passengers with a connection period of at least 20 hours can stay free of charge and accumulate unforgettable memories in Istanbul, which stands out with its historical and cultural heritage. The voucher required for the stay are issued after the application is complete.

How to apply?

At least 72 hours before their first flight, passengers can make a reservation by sending their name-surname, reservation code (PNR) and ticket number, desired accommodation dates, preferred room type, telephone number and e-mail address information to the e-mail address corresponding to their country of departure in the table below or via the booker above with the PNR and surname information.

What does it offer?

While staying in Stopover in Istanbul-contracted hotels, our passengers can explore the city’s historical and cultural structure and enjoy activities specific to Istanbul. Economy Class passengers may stay one night in a 4-star hotel and Business Class passengers may stay two nights in a 5-star or boutique hotels free of charge.

Terms and conditions

General Conditions of the Stopover Service
• To benefit from the Stopover service, there should be at least a 20-hour layover between two flights.
• Passengers traveling from abroad to abroad with a connection at Istanbul Airport (IST) on both their outbound and return flights can benefit from our Stopover Service.
• To take advantage of the Stopover Accommodation service in Istanbul, the layover between two flights should not exceed 7 days.
• To use the Stopover Accommodation service, the outbound and return flights should be on the same reservation. Separate tickets for outbound and return flights are not accepted.
• Passengers can benefit from this service only once for either the outbound or return flight.
• For the Stopover benefit to be valid, the country of departure and the country of arrival must be the same.
• The stopover accommodation service is only available for round trip flights operated by Turkish Airlines. Passengers with ticket numbers starting with 235 can benefit from this service.
• Rules may vary from country to country; passengers benefiting from the Stopover Accommodation Service are subject to the rules of the country from which they first depart with Turkish Airlines.
• Passengers who use the Stopover service cannot benefit from the Touristanbul service on the same route.
• Passengers under the age of 18 and those traveling alone cannot benefit from the Stopover accommodation service.

Accommodation Conditions and Duration
• Economy Class passengers can stay for 1 night at a 4-star hotel free of charge.
• Business Class passengers can stay for 2 nights at a 5-star or boutique hotel free of charge.

*Special cases:
Passengers traveling from Australia, Canada, Chile, China Mainland (PVG, CAN, PEK) , Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and the USA:
-Economy Class passengers can stay for 2 nights at a 4-star hotel free of charge.
-Business Class passengers can stay for 3 nights at a 5-star or boutique hotel free of charge.
• The free accommodation period must be used consecutively and cannot be split into different dates.

Application and Approval Process
• Passengers wishing to benefit from the Stopover service should apply at least 72 hours before their flight. Requests made less than 72 hours in advance will not be processed.
• Passengers wishing to use the Stopover Accommodation Service should apply after completing the ticketing process.
• Passengers who do not apply for the service cannot use it in case of schedule changes or flight cancellations during their travel.

Visa, Transportation, and Additional Costs
• It is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain all the necessary documents for entry and exit from Turkey. You can visit the e-visa page before your journey.
• Visa fees, local travel expenses, and travel expenses between the airport and the hotel are the passenger’s responsibility.

Hotel Voucher Usage and Changes
• Passengers without a hotel voucher cannot benefit from the free accommodation service.
• The hotel voucher and boarding pass should be presented at check-in at the hotel.
• Hotel vouchers are created with the current ticket number. If the ticket number changes, the passenger needs to request a new voucher.
• Once the hotel voucher is issued by the system, it cannot be changed according to personal requests.
• For additional accommodation, after receiving the hotel voucher, you can directly contact the hotel to take advantage of Turkish Airlines' special prices.

Invalid Conditions
• Passengers with tickets in N and R fare classes cannot benefit from the Stopover Accommodation Service.
• Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the Stopover service in Istanbul.
