PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
The Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) is 12 km from the city center and there are many ways to get there, including bus, metro, train, and taxi. The Exprés Aeropuerto buses run every 15 minutes until midnight and every 35 minutes after that. They pass the O’Donell, Plaza De Cibeles, and Atocha bus stops and take around 40 minutes. The line 8 metro train from the Nuevos Ministerios metro station also goes to the city center. You may have change trains, depending on your destination.

You will have no problem finding a taxi outside the airport. In addition to city taxis, there are a number of minicabs as well. You' can tell which are the city taxis by the curved red lines on their doors. A taxi from the airport to the city center costs around 30 euros.
