Dating to 5000 BCE, Adana's rich history can be observed at the Anavarza Ancient City, the Misis Mosaic Museum, the Ramazanoğlu Mansion and Taşköprü, where important civilizations such as the Hittites, Assyrians, Persians, Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans left their mark. Beautiful natural attractions include Yüreğir Mountain National Park, Seyhan Dam Lake, Karataş Beach and Akyatan Lake. Adana is also the birthplace of many of the most well-known dishes in Turkish cuisine, including kebabs, turnip juice, liver, bici bici (pudding with ice and rose water) and stuffed ribs.
Adana hosts annual events such as the International Adana Film Festival, the Orange Blossom (Portakal Çiçeği) Carnival and the Adana Taste (Adana Lezzet) Festival, which add excitement to the city's already vibrant daily life.
