Independence Palace is a great to start as you take to the streets to explore Hồ Chí Minh. The palace still carries the scars of the Vietnam War, and everything about it is just as it was when the North seized control of the South in 1975. The War Remnants Museum was established after the fall of the South Vietnamese government, and today it still displays the military equipment used by the Vietnamese military as well as American combat vehicles. The Hồ Chí Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica and many other buildings are also well worth visiting. After exploring the temples and squares, head over to Thai Binh Market, a unique, colorful market quite unlike anything you have probably seen before! Be sure to try some of the street food on offer here. If none of that takes your fancy, there restaurants with local cuisine all over the city that offer the full range of delicious Vietnamese dishes .
