Thanks to its location on the shore of Mediterranean Sea and free trade zone in Qasr Ahmad Harbor, the city is one of the most active points of Libya. Vast plains situated in the outskirts of the city are not open for settlement yet and they are considered as potential sources for the future of the city. Misurata is an African city which carries the traces of Asia and Europe and it has been ruled by various states like Phoenicia and France in different eras.
